I am a graduate research assistant at the University at Notre Dame working with Dr. Kevin W. Bowyer at the Computer Vision Research Lab (CVRL). My research includes computer vision, machine learning and biometrics. My current projects are mainly focused on face recognition, where the main goal is to understand and improve the accuracy across different demographic groups in deep learning methods. My previous research at the IMAGO UFPR lab focused on detecting facial expressions using Action Units with varying head poses.
I spend my free time practicing a variety of team sports, as well as inline skating. I like to play videogames, specially the ones with campaign modes. I am also an amateur drummer who play songs from classic rock to metal.
